JASMINE LE

Jasmine Le is a painter based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, she moved to Honolulu at nine and is completing a BFA in Painting and a BS in Fashion Design and Merchandising at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

She paints threshold spaces, ordinary architecture where a passage is happening, and works them from reflection rather than observation. Each canvas begins rigid and opens only when the control is let go. What makes the work good is not hers. It is given.
